The road to becoming a manager
Note: This post was created and published in November of 2022. Today William is still in a manager role in the Revenue Development team.
William Brandelius, internally known as Willy has been working at Funnel for the last 4+ years. Willy started out as a Revenue Development Representative (RDR) and grew into his position as RDR manager for the EMEA Revenue Development Representatives Manager team. Get to know Willy more, why he chose Funnel and what is special in his team, and more.
Why did you choose to work for Funnel?
I chose Funnel back in 2018 because I got a taste of the company culture throughout the recruitment process. I spoke to multiple people and got introduced to the team and got a great feeling. At the time I was at a large company and the appeal of joining a fast-paced start-up with less than 50 employees really spurred my interest. The Funnel product and market also really intrigued me at the time, seeing the impact a solution like this could have on marketing teams, with my background working at an agency I could relate to the need. Also to have an opportunity to sell to many different countries was a great challenge I wanted to tackle.
I started at Funnel as a Revenue Development Representative, about one year later my interest in management led me to become the team coach and help the others in the team grow. I did that successfully for a while before taking on my current role as Manager.
What is your favorite aspect of working at Funnel?
The people! Getting to spend time with people from all around the world with different experiences and skills gives one a lot of insight and motivation. It is rare that I leave an internal meeting less energized than before or without a smile on my face.
What would you say is special about your team?
The drive. Everyone wants to provide value and is super passionate about what they do in a way that would motivate anyone to do their part to achieve team targets. Also, we have a whole lot of fun together. Since joining Funnel I have not had the Sunday Blues even once.
Who are you looking for in your team?
I am looking for motivated, analytical, and creative people with a drive to become the Revenue Development stars of tomorrow. We win as a team, and we want to be the best in the world at what we do and anyone that joins us will be a part of that journey.
